What is Sacred Quiet™
Sacred Quiet ™ is more than a moment of stillness. It is a way home to yourself.
Developed by Dr. Benita L. Thornhill, PsyD, LPC, E-RYT500, Sacred Quiet™ is a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based healing method created specifically to support Black women and other bodies of culture in releasing survival mode and reclaiming their inner wisdom. It is a cyclical, not linear approach, as healing does not move in straight lines. The Sacred Quiet™ Method honors your unique return through five distinctive but interwoven phases of becoming.
This method integrates neuroscience, storytelling, yoga, and somatic practices into a soulful framework for healing. It invites us to soften, listen, and live, not just survive.

The Scared Quiet ™ is rooted in five distinct healing archetypes, each one representing a unique phase in the return to self:
- The Endurer – Carrying
- The Threshold One – Listening
- The Awakener – Releasing
- The Soft Returner – Returning
- The Embodied One – Integrating
Each archetype speaks to a part of your journey- emotionally, spiritually, and somatically. These archetypes are not diagnoses. They are reminders that healing is layered, and every part of you, every part of your journey, deserves to be seen and honored. There’s no “right” phase. No wrong way. No place you “should” or “shouldn’t” be. Only a rhythm that is your own.
